Is Your Paperwork Piling Up? It's Time for an Assistant!

As an equestrian professional, you'd rather be in the saddle than stuck behind a desk. But the reality of running a business means a mountain of administrative tasks—from managing your diary to handling race administration—can quickly take over your day. What if you could have the best of both worlds?

Hiring a virtual assistant who understands the unique needs of the equestrian industry isn't just a luxury; it’s a smart business move.

Here are the top 5 benefits of working with The Equestrian Assistant:

1. More Time in the Saddle, Less Time at the Desk

Imagine a day where your schedule is perfectly managed, your emails are organised, and your clients are all communicated with—without you lifting a finger. My specialised services handle everything from diary management for lessons and competitions to accurate report typing, so you can focus on what truly matters: training, competing, and your horses.

2. A Polished Online Brand That Attracts Clients

Your website and social media are the face of your business. But with everything else on your plate, it’s hard to keep them updated. I can handle your social media content creation, post scheduling, and message monitoring to build a consistent and professional online presence that captures the attention of new clients and sponsors.

3. Smart, Cost-Effective Support

Thinking of hiring? A virtual assistant is the ultimate flexible solution. You get access to an experienced professional on an hourly basis, paying only for the work you need. This eliminates the significant overhead costs of a full-time employee, such as benefits, office space, and equipment, making it a budget-friendly way to get the support you need.

4. Specialised Industry Knowledge

You wouldn't hire an assistant who doesn't understand your business, so why would you settle for a generalist? I focus exclusively on the equestrian world, which means I speak your language. Whether it's racing administration or navigating the needs of a busy yard, we have the specialised knowledge to hit the ground running.

5. Flawless Events, Zero Stress

Organising an equestrian event is a massive undertaking. From budgeting to attendee liaison, the details can be overwhelming. I will handle the logistics for you, ensuring a seamless, stress-free event experience that impresses your clients and allows you to enjoy the day without a single worry.

Alex Campbell, Farrier

"Anna-Marie really listened to what I wanted to achieve from our session. She arrived on time and was very professional throughout. We worked together to create media content for my farrier business, and she suggested creative shot ideas that would showcase my work. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and excited about what we could create together. The photos and video were delivered promptly, in a format that suited my needs perfectly. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again."

I provide comprehensive support to owners, syndicates, trainers, jockeys, and race organisers, acting as a reliable liaison to keep everyone updated on their horses’ progress. On race days, I manage all logistics — from arranging badges and preparing detailed owner instructions to ensuring smooth coordination behind the scenes.

I also handle key administrative tasks, including compiling owner communications, drafting blogs, and liaising with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) on behalf of owners and trainers. Beyond race day operations, I serve as a central point of contact for all stakeholders, co-ordinate essential logistics such as stabling and transport, and support marketing efforts by keeping websites and social media channels up to date with the latest news.

My goal is to provide seamless, organised, and professional support so that every aspect of racing operations is delivered with care and efficiency.

About Me

Hi, I’m Anna-Marie Wilby, founder of The Equestrian Assistant, your dedicated virtual support partner in the equestrian world.

Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve ridden and owned them for most of my life, with a particular passion for the world of horse racing. My professional journey in the industry began during lockdown, when I joined Harry Whittington Racing as a secretary — a role that gave me an insider’s view of running a busy yard. From there, I moved to Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, deepening my experience and connections within the sport I love.

Today, I live in the heart of horse country near the Valley of the Racehorse in Berkshire, where I share my days with my own horse, two lively dogs, and a cat who keeps us all in check. Horses aren’t just my profession — they’re my lifestyle, my passion, and my community.

I bring over 15 years of experience as a corporate Executive Assistant, along with a strong background in the racing industry. Having worked as a Racing Secretary for top establishments, I understand the fast pace and unique demands of the equine world.

Combining my professional expertise with a lifelong passion for horses, I offer tailored virtual assistant services specifically designed for equestrians. Whether it’s managing your schedule, handling administrative tasks, coordinating events, or streamlining operations, I’m here to ensure your equestrian endeavours run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

At The Equestrian Assistant, I’m committed to providing reliable, efficient, and discreet support—giving you the freedom to focus on what truly matters: your horses and your business.
